Honey is out of stock until next harvest!
Sorry everyone but I’m all tapped out of honey until further notice:-(
I am hoping to do a small harvest in a couple weeks and then do the main harvest at the end of summer. Please check back for updates.
Thanks!

2023 Harvest is fully complete!
Hello loyal MRH customers!
It took me awhile to get through the harvest this year. I actually took a little less honey this year than last — mainly due to some time/attention conflicts on my end. I also kept waiting for a break in the heat which took me way into September/October! Regardless, the bees seemed to make a reasonable amount of honey even with the season’s lack of rainfall and hot temps.
I have some very interesting DARK honey from some hive boxes (see photo). I don’t know what nectar resource this comes from — could be Black Locust trees (we have a lot around here). Dark honey often has a robust flavor that is almost molasses-like. It is said to be richer in antioxidants too. If you’d like to try it PLEASE REQUEST IT SPECIFICALLY after placing an order. Text me at 317-440-1655.
Mill Run Honey will be at Carmel Green Initiative’s Holiday Gift event at the Carmel Library on Thursday, November 30th from 1 to 7pm. We will have honey in various containers (many ideal for gifting) along with our beeswax lip balms, hand salves, candles, and similar products.
We would love to help you put together unique natural and local holiday gift items for your friends, family, teachers, co-workers and so on. Just drop us an email or text and we’ll make it happen!
Thanks,
Mac Williams
2022 Honey Harvest is Now Available!
Bottling the first jars of 2022 honey…
The full Spring-Summer blend of ‘wildflower’ honey is now available. I truly believe that the reason so many of our customers proclaim that MRH honey is “the best that I have ever tasted” is due to our practice of only harvesting one time—at the end of summer. The result is a ‘full bouquet’ of all the various flower nectars that the bees collected during the whole season.
Another aspect of MRH honey is that it is ‘single origin’ (a popular marketing phrase these days:-). But we actually do get ALL of our honey from our own honeybee colonies (typically ~25) right here on our Noblesville property where they freely roam on our 10-acres and the adjacent Stony Creek watershed. Our bees avoid needless pesticide/herbicide contact from commercial farming and thereby enjoy a relatively ‘organic’ forage area. And we do not use any hive treatments or medications that could affect honey purity and taste.
NEW THIS YEAR — Buy your favorite PINT glass jars in quantities of FOUR (‘4-pack’) and get a discount ($12.50 per jar).
We greatly appreciate your support of MRH and helping us all “Save the Bees”:-)!
2021 Harvest Was Great
The bees have been blissfully ignorant of the continued chaos of 2021, so we have lots of honey and beeswax products to offer. We had a big swarm year, catching 7-8 swarms and letting the other few be free to fly away (if you love something, let it go—right?!). Hope the goodness of local, natural honey helps you stay healthy and connected to nature in 2021 and beyond.
2021 Harvest was Great!
Well it’s been a pretty traumatic year so far for us humans but the honeybees could not care less! They have been collectively working hard and totally ignoring the concept of social distancing. A good, average-sized hive has about 60,000 bees all doing their instinctive busy work so crowding is the norm and is generally an indication of a strong and healthy hive.
This past Spring we consolidated all of our hives to our Noblesville location. It’s kind of a ‘mixed-use’ neighborhood — we’re 5 minutes from the downtown square yet we still have quite a bit of natural area (especially along the Stony Creek corridor) for the bees to forage. A couple years ago we planted 1500 native wildflower plugs and also seeded several areas here to ensure that they wouldn’t need to go to far for nectar. With the reasonable amount of rainfall this Spring and Summer we had blooms pretty much all season. And we always embrace the appearance of clover and dandelions as a valuable and beautiful resource!
If you are new to Mill Run Honey you may not know that our honey label ‘tagline’ is “Just the Way the Bees Make it”. We follow organic-based strategies in managing our hives and our land to minimize any impurities that might affect the health of the bees or the quality of the honey and beeswax they share with us.
Here in September we may still get a late batch of Goldenrod Honey but otherwise the bulk of our 2020 honey crop has been gleaned (with plenty left for the bees’ Winter food). We look forward to filling those jars to fulfill the orders that you place with us — Thanks for your loyal patronage!
Also — Don’t forget that we make wonderful products with beeswax! As Winter sets in, the natural goodness of pure beeswax skin/lip care as well as long-burning, air-cleansing candles can brighten even the darkest of days!
Bee safe y’all!!!

Latest News
We still have LOTS of honey from the 2019 harvest! Remember that our honey is “just like the bees make it” — in other words — pure and natural raw honey with all the good stuff in it that might-just-possibly* benefit your overall health, immune system, allergies issues and so on. *Sorry no guarantees:-)
This mild winter (so far…) has perhaps been easier on the bees than usual. Warm days allow bees to briefly exit their winter confines and get a bit of fresh air and ‘cleanse their internal systems’. However, too many warm days can also confuse the bees into thinking it’s time to load up on fuel (honey) and fly around looking for fresh pollen and nectar. This can cause a hive to consume its precious storage of honey too quickly and run out before Spring! Biologists have theorized that the ideal Winter temperature for honeybees is about 35-degrees which is cold enough to keep their activity level low but not so cold that they need to be extra-active to create internal hive heat and again use too much honey. Super cold temps can of course be very unkind to all but the strongest of colonies so I’m glad we haven’t had any polar-vortexes this year (knock on wood!).
It’ll still be winter for a while so let us know if you need a honey refill or perhaps some beeswax hand cream or lip-balm. We also have super long-burning 100% beeswax candles available to light up these long dark nights. Hang in there y’all and we hope to see you soon!
Holiday Shopping 2018!
There are two opportunities this year to shop in-person and pick out some extra holiday gifts for you or the ones you love.
